Playgrounds

We think that it is important for you to have a calm place to rest and we also recommend you regularly leave the hospital to clear your head. We suggest to you some places to discover during visits with the diseased child’s brothers and sisters.

There are two large parks near the hospital :

The parc des Bastions (10-15 min. to walk or tram 12 direction Moillesulaz, stop Place Neuve) with an outdoor skating ring in winter and a playground.

On the last ramparts of the old part of the town, next to the parc des Bastions, there is a playground for children on the promenade de la Treille.

The parc Bertrand (10-15 min. to walk) in the avenue Peschier with playground and wading pool.
There are also several playgrounds in the vicinity of the hospital to be found on the website of the city of Geneva:
Here is a selection of the playgrounds located nearest to the hospital:

The playground of the parc des Chaumettes

The promenade des Clochettes connects the avenue Dumas with the chemin des Crêts-de-Champel.

The playground of the promenade de l’Aubépine

The playground of the Plainpalais plain, including a skate park (10-15 min to walk or tram 12 direction Moillesulaz stop plaine de Plainpalais).
There are also playgrounds in the schools near the hospital access to which, however, is forbidden during school hours, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.:

Playground of the Roseraie school at 15 rue des Peupliers.

Playground of the Minoteries school

The Fontenette swimming pool at Carouge is an outdoor swimming pool located at a walking distance of 15 min.

A long way from the hospital, but within easy reach by bus no. 1, you can go to the Botanical Conservatory and Gardens of the City of Geneva: take the bus no. 1 (10 min. to walk) direction Jardin Botanique, stop Jardin Botanique. You will find a playground and a magnificent roundabout during the warm season. Several areas are particularly dedicated to children, like the Botanicum, beside the lake, and the Jardin des Senteurs et du Toucher. There is a picnic area as well that is the ideal place for family relaxation. For more information, you can go to the website.
